I have always liked to make things. I like marginal technologies, color relationships, and satisfying forms. As a lifelong inhabitant of an often chilly region of the planet, I like to be warm. I combine these interests in the hats I make. Further, I want to make hats which, although they may draw some attention to themselves, do not overshadow the person wearing the hat. I want my hats to suit their wearers aesthetically and psychologically. I continue to be surprised that with animal fiber, hot water and soap a strong, warm and beautiful fabric can be made. I like to be surprised.
